Itinerary for 2018 Festival
The festival will be taking place at Thurso beach/harbour.
Thursday 19th July
Informal arrival evening in Ferry Inn, Scrabster.
Friday 20th July
9 am meet on site at Thurso Harbour. Start building the drystone feature.
Refreshments at 11 am, lunch of soup and sandwiches at 1 pm – 1.30 pm.
Refreshments available all afternoon.
Finished by 4.30 pm.
4.45pm Tea and baking in the Tempest Café at the Harbour where we will be showing a 30 minute DVD documentary by Roland Keates called ‘ If Walls Could Talk’. Afterwards a short guided tour of nearby Old St. Peters Church which dates to 1125.

Saturday 21st July
9am meet at Harbour, briefing. Continue building stone feature.
Refreshments 11 am, Lunch 1 pm – 1.30 pm.
Refreshments available all afternoon.
Free stone painting for children adjacent to building area. 1pm – 4pm
Stone lettering demonstration by Hoods of Wick 2pm – 4pm
Finished by 4.30pm
Formal welcome and Guest Speaker’s lectures in Caithness Horizons 5.00 for 5.15 pm – 7 pm. View Pictish Standing stones in foyer.
Refreshments available
Raffle draw in Ferry Inn, Scrabster.

Sunday 9th July
Meet at site finish feature/tidy up
Followed by trip to Dunnet Head to repair gaps in old Northern Lighthouse Board walls at the most Northerly point in mainland UK.
Car sharing is recommended. Ample parking available
Lunch 1 pm – 1.30 pm.
Refreshments and food available
Very scenic views
30 min tour of RSPB site afterwards with RSPB ranger.
Early finish.
